Countries around the world are experimenting with artificial intelligence (AI) for various purposes. Use of AI for gaming industry is one of them. Although use of botnet and AI are banned from websites providing online poker services
, yet AI can be used to test its effectiveness and usage in poker and other games.
It is obvious that use of botnet and AI would amount to taking undue and unfair advantage over others and it would amount to cheating. Thus, AI and botnet are prohibited from playing or using online poker websites and online fantasy sports
In one such incidence, AI has beaten
four human players in a poker marathon match lasting 20 days, winning more than USD 1.5 millions worth of chips. Libratus, an AI programme developed at Carnegie Mellon University in the US, was trained to play a variant of the game known as no-limit heads-up Texas hold em.The algorithm used in the system could be transferred to a range of other uses including negotiations, finance, medical treatment and cyber security. In fact, many countries, including India, have shown their interest in using AI and quantum computing
for cyber security purposes.
One of the professional poker players, Jimmy Chou, admitted that the AI was proving a tough opponent. "The bot gets better and better every day. Its like a tougher version of us," he said. "The first couple of days, we had high hopes. But every time we find a weakness, it learns from us and the weakness disappears the next day," Chou said.
Although this was an experimental event yet use of botnet and AI is still strictly prohibited from online games websites. So do not try to use AI and botnet at online games websites as that is clearly illegal and prohibited. Similarly, do not use AI and botnet in a manner that is illegal and counter productive
for the fight against cyber attacks. In short, use AI and botnet in a techno legal manner that is compliant to laws of various jurisdictions.
